Music Video 3rd Analysis
Country & Western - 'I see The Want To In Your Eyes' - Conway Twitty
There are many differences between this video and the others I have analysed. The first is that all the shots are on tripods and are steady, as oppose to Born Slippy and Fire which contain alot of handheld shots. Secondly, the majority of transitions within Twitty's video are lenghty crossfade to mirror the slow nature of the song, fast snappy cuts like the ones in 'Born Slippy' would look very out of place. Also the sets are very different, Twittys video is set in one place using a a very simple backdrop of a barn with few props which is typical of a country and western video as oppose to Kasabians video 'Fire' which is set in several locations. I believe this is because of the target audience for each video, older generations tend to just enjoy the music but younger people like an exciting video to accompany the song. Another typical element of coutnry and western music videos is the lead singer, Twitty, standing with his band playing an acoustic guitar, the light is very naturaly and soft. The costumes vary massively too, Twitty and his band are all in simple, matching suits, stereotypical with country music. Kasabian wear fashionable items of clothing in order to appeal to the younger generations.
